WEICON Rust Converter neutralises rust on corroded iron and steel surfaces and reliably stops corrosion. With its special formula of acid and tannin, the rust converter penetrates the rust. It chemically converts iron oxides into a stable layer and provides temporary corrosion protection through zinc phosphate. Depending on the carbon content of the metal, the treated area changes colour to bluish, brownish or black. The layer provides the perfect base for subsequent protective coatings, e.g. with WEICON Zinc Spray. WEICON Rust Converter achieves optimal results on lightly rusted surfaces with a rust grade of A and B. Loose rust and loose parts should be removed mechanically beforehand. The converter only becomes active when applied to rust or metal and can be used extensively on all rusted areas, such as on machines and equipment, agricultural machinery and motor vehicles. Unlike other converters, WEICON Rust Converter can be washed off the treated surface with clean water and a sponge or soft brush once the reaction time is over. This way, residues that have formed during the conversion process are removed.
